Hi,

Just purchased the range bars plugin one day ago, I'm experiencing some pretty serious bottlenecks during news releases, as if the bars are struggling to print.  My system is multicore based, high video ram and system ram, and my connection to the quotes server is hardline.  Any ideas on how to reduce if not altogether eliminate these lags in price recording?  Other than this issue, this is the best range bars plugin I've seen on the market.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I include an Omnia Bar License Key with my VIP program and naturally I use the software myself, all I can tell you is that I have an i5 CPU with 8GB of RAM and always have about 12 offline charts running on my machine, I experience no bottlenecks so there must be an issue on your end. If your range bars are too small then during volatile times there will be an excessive amount of bars trying to print per second. Remember that the software works on points and not pips, so a setting of 50 is 5 pips.

I do not include this software in my free program so you will be best served by visiting the authors page where you purchased this software. You can use his comments area or contact form if you need to ask him anything. ** Register Here for Free Membership to see this image/link **

thanks, thats what it was, im running an i7-4700hq, the rb plugin was set at the standard 100 but just bumped it up some and it smoothed out nicely.

**edit**

there was still a bit of noticeable lag when i would move the crosshair just to test out, and i could hear the cpu fans whirring a bit even still after having made the above changes... so a bit more investigation revealed the source.

just for anyones reference, after doing some digging i found that the number of offline candles i had set was 100000, this is what actually was gumming up the system, as i reset the indi back to 100 points, and left the offline at 1000, now everything is super smooth, no lag whatsoever, no cpu fans whirring, etc... awesome plugin!
