didnt post for a while as i was sharing my trades in the live room, but today i had to head to work at 13.45 so no time for the us session outlook. i had to chose my trades by 13.45 or forget trading the us open at 14.00 my time. so i set the trade manager lines for 2 conservative take profit trades and left the house. got back to find both reached tp and then turned around like i was kinda expecting. still got 1 to 1 and a bit more on 1 of them.

when it comes to this set up and the plain 3rd wave of the 3 point turn set up, i have to say i finally get it when Theo says, all you do is rinse and repeat. i finally gotten confidence enough in these type set ups that it's becoming automatic to put the TM lines on for these. i imagine the price will even go higher then the 2 to 1 or so i got, but as i had to aim for a higher high, i didn't want to over do it, although a lot spoke for it once the brown 3 point turn was triggered, but still i decided to just stick with the trade i placed.

i know i keep saying it, but i think i'm getting close to being able to go live, my experience level is beginning to raise which makes my confidence level better too. it's not only about being right after all it's being able to hold on till you are right and price makes the TP. you need to have a trigger to tell you where to enter, then you need a stop loss, then the TP, this one is vital, you want as much as possible, but you don't want a loss. most importantly you need the self confidence to trust your trades till the end. it's no good closing trades early for fear only to see them hit TP. i am still learning this. there are many charts where i look back to see great entries that i managed to close either early, or some times even at a loss, just out of fear of hitting the stop for a full loss. now i often tell myself you have to be willing to lose the trade and hit SL, to have a chance to end the trade by hitting the TP. you can't win if you don't play kind of thing.
Â
anyway, i was looking at a BE day, but the last few trades i was able to take have turned it into a black numbers day after all.
these 3 trades on the US 500 saved my day

here we have an examples of me closing early due to losing confidence in a trade. the second one triggered against me so that was reasonable to close early. specially as it's getting late now and i'm tempted to give up on the ej buy too for now.

hope everyone had nice Xmas holidays and a good new years start. i'm still on my mission to make my demo account consistently profitable. i move a few steps forward and then a step or 2 back again and so on. i do think i'l close, but i have thought that many times before so trying to just ignore everything and trade without thinking too much about the amounts, rather just do the system automatically. trouble is, very easy to let emotions get in the way, still training that aspect.

Hi Omar.
spending your time wise i see 😉 and a happpy new year offcourse 😀
but keep in mind you only made 38 trades. thats not a lot for a really good backtest if you ask me...
i just stick with 3 patterns. double taps, trend continuation and 3 point turns.Â
in that way i don't have to think and keep it simple for myself. the only thing that i do then is accepting losses or even better accepting that i don't have to be right about all the trades i make. if it is a loss i simple wait for the next one.
i think it will be a good thing if we keep this forum going in 2016! keeping it up to date every day :)Â
see you tomorrow in the live room!

morning!
nice start off the year 🙂
first trade was a nice 1:3 winner during London open got a follow treu straight after that and i missed the next trade because i was making myself a nice cup off thee...Â
but i got one more long. little bit tricky because it made a lower low on the purple line so i went for a safe 1:1 and that turnd out to be a good idea 😉
then a loss... no problem, just wait for the next one trade. and a break even trade after that. i was thinking to take the long straight after that as we made a higher high on the H3 chart but i didn't had the balls to do it... and i missed the nice short after that (red arrow) because i wasn't around.
lets see wat US session will bring 🙂

the skyes are the limits Omar! as long as you believe in it 😉
missed a lot of trades durring US session but there is another day tomorrow. and you can say i left a lot of pips on the table if you look at the charts. but letting my prfits run is just not my thing. i need to score my goals and that's good enough 🙂

nice trading Sjoerd,
i agree taking the 1 to 1 often is better then getting 3 to 1 every once in a while. in my back testing i notice much better results if i don't try and get what i think will be the whole move. if i take small 1 to 1 and a bit over trades, my over all results are better.
Â
got a few wins and a few losses today, but this nas buy made up for everything as the nas positions are larger then forex so a 1 to 1 trade made just over 200 bucks, as you can see i closed it early, as it made 1 to 1 already i thought just take it. basically a brown 3 point turn that was small enough to be used as a trigger.

yes all my backtest results are on 1:1 and thats enough for me so everything above 1:1 is extra pips/money for me
1:2 trades are easy to take on the EU M33 so thats nice.
you like traing all these different pairs don't you? i prefer just trading the EU. made it al lot more relaxt for me and you will get planty of trades during all sessions!
but nice trade anyway! not really my thing as there is only a very countertrend pattern buy it shows ho has some balls here 😉
NFP week has a good start lets see wat tomorrow will bring 🙂 catch you at US session! Â
