Ok Theo, I surrender! How do you draw those freehand lines on the charts?Ă‚Â I was determined to figure this out for myself, rather than bother you with something minor, as it would also help me get to grips with the mechanics of metatrader, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. In the videos your cursor appears to go off the chart to some mysterious part of the universe and returns as a pencil which you use to draw thick green lines.Ă‚Â Ă‚Â
Am I missing something blindingly obvious?
Happy for anyone to answer this - doesn't always have to be Theo.
Thanks in advance, David

Sounds like you are talking about the lines created from the video capture software itself and not actually anything to do with MT4. All tools available in MT4 can be found in the toolbar at the top.Ă‚Â
I have an idea that maybe a good addition to the Free Course. Why don't you let me know how far into the basics of MT4 you need me to go and I will whip up a video for you. List out what you know how to do and what you want to know how to do if possible

Hi Theo
I'm not exactly sure yet as to what I don't know. I've followed pretty well your videos so far - which are definitely the best intros to this kind of stuff that I have come across in my on off 10 years of trading.
But getting back to those lines, I would like to be able to draw in the waves as you do.Ă‚Â Also, would appreciate more info on how to set up email alerts and any other type of alerts that might be available.
Thanks.

Hi David,
I started working with Swing Indis a long long time ago now, we have developed something very special with WavEFX but that is all outlined in the v1 video course into the VIP. I do however have an old Indi that is freely found across the Web and that does an OK job with my presets. There are 2 scales of wave you want to follow as a minimum using 1 to turn the other. I have attached this 2 swing concept in indis to the post further below with the Video Response.
Go to your H4 chart and place "FREE_ATM_Swing_2" on there first, this will be a LimeGreen colored line
Now place "FREE_ATM_Swing_1" on there next so they are layered correctly, this will be a Chocolate colored line
Essentially you are using the Chocolate line to trade a confirmed turn of the Lime line and also trading the the chocolate trend continuations of that line which will be the 3rd push in a given direction on that chocolate line.
This ends up being something covered in huge detail with the v1 course and is a little beyond the scope of the Free course.
Easier explained in this post -Ă‚Â ** Register Here for Free Membership to see this image/link **
I will create a quick video explaining these "training wheels" and how to use Alerts as my next Free Course video addition.
Enjoy,
Theo

Hi Theo
Thanks for your time in preparing this but there are some technical issues:
I don't know how to place the swing files onto my chart.Ă‚Â Also, when I try to open them I'm told I can't because they are .ex4 files.
You may have gathered by now that I'm not a techy. David
Hi David,
You don't need to open the ex4 files, you just need to close your MT4 and the 2 indicators in the indicators folder of your MT4.
For me this would be somewhere like this -Ă‚Â C:\Program Files (x86)\Go Trader MT4-1\experts\indicators
but if you run 32bit windows then it may look like this -Ă‚Â C:\Program Files\Go Trader MT4-1\experts\indicators
One you place the 2 indicators in that folder you can restart MT4 and they will be available to you in the Navigator window where you can drag and drop them on your chart.
Cheers,
Theo
Just a quick note, I do find these swing indicators to be a little sloppy on candlestick charts which is why I do not provide them in the Free Course Templates. We have created a timeless charting system called WavEFX and developed our own swing indi for it which makes having the swings drawn for you very tidy and very useful. I found with Candlesticks it was more effective and beneficial to your learning to start judging each scale of swing manually, adding the swing indis after that means that they won't be telling you what to do, just helping you see a visual on what you actually see anyway.
Cheers,
Theo

Thanks Theo.
I did want to draw in the lines manually but the indis you have provided are better than nothing.Ă‚Â It is my aim to master this then get some decent practice on a demo account, and evntually moving back into live trading when my confidence and ability warrant it. Once I am back into profitable trading I will then upgrade.
This video will show you how you can use 2 of the free indicators provided for you.Ă‚Â
(attached to this post for current members and now added to the Free Files package for new members)
These 2 indicators can help you understand how to read 2 different "scales" of swing relativity and then use 1 to trade the other.

Thanks Theo, I'll play around with this and let you know how I get on.
Cheers, David
ps. just a small thing but as I'm sincerely working towards the upgrade fee every little helps, so I've just noticed that my EFX cash balance has dropped by $5 and no longer matches my number of posts - this is number 12.
I think I had to delete one of your posts as I added the videos and tidied things up a little. I will add the 5 manually if I can remember how
