I remember getting MT4 installed on Mac way back when via wine I believe, but not everything worked which is why I moved on. Keep me posted on how you get on.

Best,

Hi Theo

Thanks for replying. I managed to get it installed using CrossOver, it's a wrapper similar to Wine. It works fine though some of the free scripts you gave with the free membership doesn't seem to work but I will check again. Hopefully it isn't because MT4 is being used via a wrapper.

Thanks again for your help.

Kind regards

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

I'm afraid I can't help with that one, I gave up installing MT4 on Mac years ago because it just never worked properly. I soon moved on to using Parallels to install Windows on Mac to use MT4 that way, and now I just use my Mac to connect to my Windows VPS server. I wouldn't worry too much about what broker you are using if it is just a demo, as long as you have a functioning MT4 you can follow along.

Best,
Theo

Hi

I'm trying to install FxPro.com MT4 exe file on my Macbook however the installation gets stuck at "Select the best access point". I used Wine and now CrossOver and it's always the same issue. This is the same issue for any brokers MT4 that doesn't have a dedicated Mac installation. XM was the only one that installed but that's because they had a dedicated Mac installation for theirs. I want to install the FxPro MT4 so that I can follow the lessons as set out by Theo and make sure that all the indicators, shortcuts, etc. is as he specifies.

Can anyone assist me. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks

Adrian
